Marina, Presidio, Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Bridge, Sea Cliff, Legion of Honor, Land’s End, Golden Gate Park, Haight Ashbury, Painted Ladies, Civic Center, Financial District etc. To experience the walk on crooked Lombard Street and Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill add about an hour. Best done in the early morning.
For other places like Chinatown, Union Square, Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square we suggest getting there by cable car and walking around etc.

B). MARIN & SONOMA COUNTY – Redwoods, Waves, Bays and Wines
North across Golden Gate Bridge, unique places without crowds. Majestic REDWOODS at Samuel P Taylor State Park. Drive on Shoreline HIghway through Tomales Bay known for Oysters and small restaurants, along the San Andreas Fault. Continue north to Bodega Bay made famous by the Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds. You can enjoy excellent seafood in this small bayside town.
Drive further north along the Sonoma coast Russian River empties into the Pacific at Jenner. Turning inland, follow the river through small towns past Monte Rio and Bohemian Grove to Guerneville and Forestville to the Santa Rosa area. Visit one of the many excellent Sonoma wineries such as Benovia, Battaglini or Rodney Strong in Healdsburg for tasting by appointment. Turning south time permitting, stop in San Rafael to see what looks like a futuristic spaceship Marin County Civic Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright built in 1957. Option to return to San Francisco by Golden Gate Ferry.
